Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,
After much time spent in prayer and seeking counsel from our peers and leadership at Touch the World, it is with sad hearts that we write you to say that we will be returning from Uganda on November 5th, 2011. Since arriving, we have failed to create an environment that Christie and the baby have been able to thrive in. Our living conditions have not been suitable for our needs and it has been very difficult for Christie to properly minister and engage in everyday life here under these conditions. As the pregnancy advances and Christie continues to grow more uncomfortable, we feel as though we’ve come to a point where we must part ways with the people of Uganda once again. It was a really tough decision, but one made in coordination with TTW leadership and guidance. We truly feel that we need this time to refresh, serving out the rest of our pregnancy at home and to regroup our thoughts and commitment to Uganda.
However, it is not goodbye forever. We have realized that we will need more support to feel secure and suited to be in Uganda with a family. Our intentions at this time are to come home and continue raising support so that upon our next arrival we will be able to provide the type of environment that our ministry and our new family will be able to thrive in. This may include a few more expensive items, namely a vehicle and a suitable place to live. For the time being, Adam will continue his design work; working more intimately with the home office while Christie continues caring for the baby. In the meantime, we will be putting together a larger scale fund-raising campaign for our future plans.
In addition to making you aware of the situation at hand and our intentions for the future, we hope that you will be able to assist us when we arrive home to grow our support network as well as strengthen our current one. We appreciate all of the help each and every single one of you has given us and find peace in knowing that when we struggle, we have so many people steadfast in prayer for us. This current trip has been our hardest trial in trusting God but we know He has spoken so clearly.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we’re so grateful for everything you have done for us this far. We pray that you can continue to support us and encourage us through this difficult and trying time and we look forward to seeing you once we return home!
Adam and Christie Sayer
